
Obituary of Edison Oakley Henley
Edison Henley, 60, Pine Tree, passed away peacefully beside his loving wife on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late George MacDonald “Donald” and Georgina Hazel (Farrell) Henley. Edison was a mechanic and crusher operator, working in construction for many years before retirement due to injury. Edison was known to his family as a loving husband and father, to the public he was known as a hard worker and a firm believer in “If you want something done right, do it your self”. Edison took pride in watching his two sons play hockey. Edison also developed a love for dogs later in life, where he would frequently be seen with a van load of dogs and never without a pocket full of treats.
Surviving are his mother, Georgina; wife, Stacey; daughter, Jami Lee (Josh) Fraser; sons, Randall (Kristen) Henley; Braydon (Madison) Henley and his fur baby Pheobe; siblings, Donald “Donnie” Henley; Donna Crawford; Melvin Henley; Alvonia (Aldie) Dean; Josephine “Josie” (Joe) Skinner; Faye (Paul) Arnfast; Leonard Henley; Fred Henley; Lisa (Roger) Miller, several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by nephew, Paul MacInnis; sister-in-law, Karen Malcolm-Henley; brother-in-law, Lee MacInnis;
A Celebration of Life will be held 6-8 p.m. and Words for Comfort at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 6 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home.
