Obituary of Valerie Gail White
February 28, 2025, Valerie Gail White, age 65, passed away peacefully with her friends and family by her side at the Aberdeen hospital, palliative care unit. Valerie was an avid lover of country music and crossed over with those who meant the most to her singing her favorite songs and sharing their fondest memories.
Valeries greatest achievements in life was her children, her grandkids and her great grandchildren, Whom she loved hard and she loved fiercely!
Valerie spent her whole life in Pictou County. She grew up on Little Harbor Road with her parents and her siblings. Her childhood was always full of love, laughter and food. Her father was a great cook and avid baker, she was always raving about her father's rolls, baked goods and home cooked dinners.
Although Valerie might not have had much throughout her life, the one thing she always had was an abundance of love. You would always find her helping anyone in need, any way she could, She was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Valerie leaves behind many who loved her, including her partner for the past 20 years, Edward Haggerty of New Glasgow and their fur baby, Shapoo.
Valerie joins in death, her Mother and Father, Louise and Frampton Mackenzie, her sister Ina Cameron and her infant sister Diane as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Valerie is survived by her children, Natasha White (Jason Chickness) of New Glasgow, Nathan White of Thorburn, Nicholas White of Truro and Nevan White (Dani White) of Trenton, as well as her brothers, Gary Mackenzie (Lois Mackenzie) and Dougie Mackenzie (Belinda Whittaker).
Valerie also leaves behind her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brittany (Aria and Sawyer) Shae-Lynn, Kayleigh, Riley, Rauri, Kamoryn, Halo, Bailey and Alec.
Valerie has made an impact on many lives throughout the years. She has made some lifelong friends and will be forever missed by those who knew her. From her stories with her best friend, Cindy Ross (some of which I'm sure she took to the grave) and her genuine love for life she will always be remembered as the life of the party!
At Valeries request, we will be celebrating her life and will gather to share fond memories, music, food and stories at a later date in the spring as Valerie loved the beauty and warmth of the season.
Cremation has taken place and Valerie will be laid to rest with her mom, whom she missed dearly, everyday of her life, at Murrays Point cemetery at a later date.
Donations can be made in Valeries memory to the Pictou County Food Bank.
The family would like to thank the incredible nurses and doctors for their kindness and support she received while at the Aberdeen Hospital. Although it wasn't easy to say goodbye, they made her crossover peaceful and their compassion will forever be with us.
"Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I miss you, until we meet again"
Lovingly submitted by family.
