Obituary of Dwayne Francis Williams
Dwayne Francis “Coop” Williams, 52, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Antigonish on August 1, 1972, he was a son of the late Margaret Ann Williams. Coop possessed a “big heart”, always helping those in need. He was always up for a chat, especially conversations about cars and sports. Coop enjoyed going to yard sales, traveling the province to pick up cars and loved the thrill of a hard-earned bargain. He was often told he should have been a lawyer. Coop enjoyed ‘numbers’ and possessed the ability to problem solve. For special people in his life, he would write very meaningful letters and poems. Life for Coop changed when his grandchildren arrived, to quote his sons, “he got soft and fluffy”. He loved spending time with his sons, grandchildren, siblings and other family members. Coop leaves a legacy of strong work ethic, kindness towards others and a loving heart.
Surviving are his sons, Nelson (Kaitlyn) Williams, Stellarton; Nathaniel “Nathan” (Courtney) Williams, New Glasgow; James “Baby James” Williams, New Glasgow; Ryan (Hope) Neilson, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Chase, Jaxon, Kylie, Lila, Daniel, Dean and Raylene “Little Big Rig”; sisters, Lori-Ann Williams, Toronto, Ont.; Tanya Williams, Timberlea; Rolanda Williams (Mark McGrath), Hatchet Lake; Stephanie Williams, Ottawa; nieces, Vikki, Jordie, Tia, Tamica and Tanysha; nephews, Marcus, Bryce, Adam and Bronson; brothers, Ashley “Bob” Williams, Ottawa, Ont.; Robbie Williams (Stephanie), Ottawa; aunts, Ellie Williams, Catherine Williams and Rita Williams, Ottawa; uncles, Donald Williams, Upper Big Tracadie; Peter Williams, Joseph Williams and Gerard Willams, New Glasgow; numerous cousins.
