Obituary of Kevin Stephen Kinnaird

 

Kevin Stephen Kinnaird, 50, Springville, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of his family.

 

Born in Ottawa, Ont., he was the son of Sharon Jane (Godkin) Kinnaird, Salmon Arm, B.C. and the late Stephen Archibald Kinnaird. He was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for the past four years. Previously, he was employed with Adventure Motors and prior, owned the former K & C Kinnaird Insurance, New Glasgow. From a young age Kevin was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, never missing a game.  In high school, he belonged to Infourmation, a four-man acapella group which represented NGHS at competition in Vancouver, B.C.  Kevin was a lifelong Metallica fan and avid golfer.  Most important in his life was family.  He spent many enjoyable hours video gaming with his boys and going for coffee dates with his daughter. Kevin and his wife, Crystal, were married on July 15, 2000, and were inseparable ever since. She was his everything and the love of his life. Kevin leaves a rich legacy of love and humour for his family to long remember.  

 

Surviving besides his mother, Sharon, are his wife, Crystal (Sutherland) Kinnaird; daughter, Mikaela Dooley-Kinnaird (Stephen Wilson), Riverton; sons, Aidan Kinnaird (Emily Archibald), Springville; Jaxon Kinnaird, Springville; grandson, Abel Wilson; sisters, Kyra (Larry) Van Heighten, Elmsdale; Karla (Chris) Ivany, Salmon Arm, B.C.; Korinna Kinnaird, Salmon Arm; father and mother-in-law, Hugh and Florence Sutherland, Springville; sister-in-law, Gayle Cook (Jay), Scotch Hill; uncle, Winston Kinnaird, Kemptville, Ont.; nieces, Kayla (Matt), Shelby (Wayne), Luke, Julian, Chelsie and Anthony; great-nieces, Adelyn, Sharon and Emeline; great-nephews, Archibald, Jennex, Jackson and Owen; cousins, Shari (Kevin) Worobey and Brad (Robyn) Kinnaird.

 

Besides his father, Stephen, he was predeceased by niece, Alice Wolter; aunt, Janet Godkin; uncle, Winston Godkin; maternal grandparents, Donald and Doreen (Wallace) Godkin; paternal grandparents, Orville and Alice (McMartin) Kinnaird.

 

The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Monday, May 19 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.  In memory of Kevin, please wear your favourite superhero, music band or Toronto Maple Leafs attire.

 

If desired, donations may be made in Kevin’s memory towards his children’s education.
