
Obituary of James Henry White
James Henry “Jimmy” White Jr., of Durham, passed away peacefully, June 25, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James Henry and Alma Elizabeth (Horne) White. Jimmy was employed with Michelin Tire for over 30 years, a career he loved. The memory of “The Mountie” on the PAPP post will not soon be forgotten. After retiring, Jimmy enjoyed volunteering at West Pictou Consolidated where he was affectionately known as “Cupcake”.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Ann (Wah) White; son, Mark White (Andrée-Anne), Stellarton; daughter, Angela (Scott) Piercey, Durham; grandchildren, Lacey, Sapphira, Miriam, and Joshua; several siblings, many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Shelley.
The family will receive visitors 1-1:50 p.m. Monday, June 30 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff MacDougall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Jimmy’s memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
Jimmy’s family wish to thank the amazing nursing staff on the Aberdeen Hospital 2nd floor for their love and care of Jimmy over his last few days. You are appreciated more than you know. One last word of thanks goes out to Dr. Christine Dipchand for taking such exceptional care of Jimmy through the years. Thank you for all you did for Jimmy and Sandra.
