Obituary of Debrah Phyllis Zirk

Debrah Phyllis “Debbie” Zirk, 70, Glen Haven Manor, formerly of New Glasgow and Princeton, B.C., passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Princeton, B.C., she was a daughter of the late Wilfred Wilhelm and Velma May (McCauley) Zirk.  For many years, Debbie was employed in customer service for several companies, a career she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a great “people person” and natural storyteller.  Debbie spent many enjoyable hours, doing resin art with her daughter, Nicole, crocheting, colouring and painting. She was a live long student of history and family genealogy. Debbie will be lovingly remembered as a generous, gregarious, altruistic lady who was the rock of her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Nicole Fransbergen (Henry Silver), Pine Tree; son, Michael Fransbergen, Comox, B.C.; grandsons, Bronzen and Austin; sisters, Alice Zirk, Stewart, B.C.; Colleen Zirk, Chase, B.C.; Laurie Zirk, Princeton; brother, Wayne Zirk, Stewart; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceasd by son, Andrew; sisters, Linda and Bev Zirk; many aunts and uncles.

In keeping with Deborah’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
