Obituary of Sage Ava Greening-David

Sage Ava Greening-David, 6-month-old daughter of Melanie Dawn Greening and Kirk John David, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Sage was born at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow and lovingly received in to this world by her parents and extended family. She was a beautiful, blue-eyed little girl who was always smiling.  She always greeted her 10-year-old sister, Luna, with “coo’s” and outstretched arms. Sage’s first word, “mama” and second word was, “Naw-na”, her sisters nickname. She enjoyed bouncing in her jump-a-roo and “playing on the PS4” with her sister and father and watching, “Miss Rachael”.  Sage’s glowing little face, excited expressions and snuggle ability will be never forgotten.

Surviving besides her parents, Melanie and Kirk are her loving big sister, Luna Freeman-David; maternal grandfather, Terry Greening; maternal grandmother by choice, Donna Tait; paternal grandparents, Kevin and Sandra David; paternal grandmother by choice, Angie Freeman; maternal aunts, Leslie and Ashley; paternal aunts, Elesha, Deanne and Mallory, as well many great-aunts, great-uncles and many cousins.

Family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Saturday,  July 12 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from  funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13 in the chapel  with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.  Private interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery.
