Obituary of Hilda Mae Greene

Hilda Mae Greene, 79, Pictou, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice (MacPherson) Cornett. Hilda was an avid WWE wrestling and MMA fan. She enjoyed playing the weekly Kinsman Bingo and faithfully attended the former Celtic bingo in earlier years.  One of Hilda’s greatest joys was trout fishing, especially on Hunter’s Lake.  Her cherished “possessions” were her children and grandchildren, who she dearly loved. Hilda’s kindness and love for her grandchildren will be forever cherished.

Surviving are her daughter, Tracey-Lee Greene (Ron Urquhart), New Glasgow; sons, Richard Greene, New Glasgow; Matthew (Trina) Greene, Pictou; grandchildren, Mitchell, Bradley, Laura Dawn, Danielle, Ashley, Brandon and Nathaniel; great-grandchildren, Max, Cameron R., Cameron H., Hayden, Calliope, Emma-Lee, Annabell, and Savanah; brother, Roy (Donna) Cornett, MacLellan Brook;  Bernie MacPherson, Toronto, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Greene; granddaughter, Angelina; sisters, Florence Guthro; brothers, Wayne, John and Terrance and Cornett.

In honour of Hilda’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
