Jan’s passing will leave a very big void in many people’s lives. I met her in 1984 as a new dental graduate doing my internship in the department of dentistry at Sunnybrook. She urged me to take a staff position there, where I spent my entire career. I learned so much from her in the early years, where she guided me in navigating the politics and personalities in a large hospital and a male dominated profession. She was so much fun to work with and knew everyone. People, from cleaning staff to VPs, would stop by to say hi to her. We lost touch when she moved back to NS in the 90’s but reconnected about eight years ago and became very close, with nearly daily emails , weekly phone calls and lunch if she was in Toronto. I will miss her. My deepest condolences to Ron and her family.
