The strongest memory I have of Gary is from when I was young - maybe 12 or 13; I don't remember the exact age. He took me out on a fishing trip - probably my first and only. I don't even remember the lake or the location. What I DO remember, though, is his delight in being able to do that; to go fishing, tromp through the woods, and spend some time casting and catching. His laughing then, even at the few tiny fishes I was so proud of catching, was just as strong a memory for me as it seems to have been for many others who were given the opportunity to know him. I don't know if he did that with any other nephews, but it was certainly something special for me. I only caught a few fish, and they were pretty small, but it was still a memory I'll treasure. Likewise, I'll remember his interest in tying flies. I thought the little workspace, set up in the basement in Little Harbour, was a pretty cool place. Stacey, Aunt "Cherry", Richie - Danielle and I are sorry for the loss, but glad for the many memories I'm sure you have. I'm glad I was able to make one, too. Chris McCulloch (and Danielle)

To Cheryl, Stacey, Guy, Tanner & Jaidan. Condolences from the Cheng family, Terry, Sandra, Michele & Susanna. Our hearts are with yours in this time of sorrow. Although our time with Gary was brief, when Sue lived in Nova Scotia, when Sandra visited the cottage, and when Gary and Cheryl visited Sydney in 2010, he left a deep impression on us all. We will cherish in our collective memory his wicked sense of humour, his hearty laugh, his garden and his generosity, and of course his contagious dew-dew-dew-dew-dew guitar ditties. Gary, we love you, rest in peace.
