Obituary of Bruce Muir

Reginald Bruce Muir, 68, Stellarton, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by his family.

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Claude and Mary Agnes (Martell) Muir. Raised in a tightknit family, Bruce lived a life defined by hard work and generosity.  A proud electrician, he could talk endlessly about his trade and was always the first to show up with a tool in hand. He cherished simple joys – Sunday breakfast at Linda and Hughie’s, trips and adventures with his grandchildren, and warm escapes to Mexico. His love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Surviving are daughters, Sara Homme, Ottawa, Ont.; Erin (Jason) White, Stellarton; sons, Adam Muir, White Rock, B.C.; Liam Muir, Dartmouth; Ryan (Brianna) Muir, Cole Harbour;

grandchildren, Ashton, Connor, Jaxon, Jack and Luke; brothers, Hugh (Linda) Muir, Stellarton; Richard (Edith) Muir, Millbrook; Brian (Carol) Muir, Sackville, N.B.; Allister (Darlene) Muir, Plymouth; sisters, Shirley Muir, Stellarton; Sandra (Danny) Tupper, Anderson’s Mountain; brothers-in-law, Sid White, Alma and Randy Bowden, Edmonton, Alta.; paternal aunt, Catherine Phalen, Victoria, B.C.; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Alice White and Carol Bowden; brothers, Gerry and David Muir; sister-in-law, Sharon Muir.

Family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 19 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 20 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating.  Reception to follow in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow.

Bruce’s children wish to extend a heartfelt and deeply sincere thank you to their aunt and uncle, Linda and Hughie Muir for their exceptional care and support through out his illness. They wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care staff for their compassion and comfort given.
