Obituary of Glen Grealey
Glenford Wayne “Glen” Grealey, 76, Linacy, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 27, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Herbert Norman and Emma Pearl (Jones) Grealey. Glen was a meat cutter and was meat manager for the former Pictou County Co-op for many years. He enjoyed playing darts, bowling, golfing, fishing and playing poker. Glen loved sports and throughout his life had volunteered as a baseball umpire and hockey coach, roles he thoroughly enjoyed. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jay’s fan. Above all, Glen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who loved his family unconditionally. For Glen, “life has changed; not ended.”
Surviving are his wife 55 years, Patsy (Pitts); daughter, Carolyn (Paul) Wilson, Hopewell; son, Wayne (Vickie) Grealey, Westville; grandchildren, Brandon, Samantha, Adar, Kyra and Tala; great-grandchildren, Myla, Everleigh, Tatum, Arthur and Darcy; sisters, Marlene (Bill) Kehoe, Edmonton, Alta.; Janice (Jim) Pollock, Hammonds Plains; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 30 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 1 in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Glen’s memory to the Pictou County VON.
Glen’s family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital 4 South staff and Dr. Hisham Mohamed for the excellent care he received, and Dr. Melanie MacCara, his longtime physician.
