Obituary of Carol Diane Pettipas

Carol Diane Pettipas, 83, Little Harbour Rd, New Glasgow formerly of Gairloch and Linacy, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Wesley Keith and Helen Grace (Wallace) Atwater. Surviving are her children, Deborah (Lorne) Moser, Greenwood; Shelley (Brian) White, Fort McMurray, Alta.; Helen Pettipas (Doug Green), Fort McMurray, Alta.; Mike (Shelley) Pettipas, Watervale; Vicky (Ron) McLean, Truro; Phil Pettipas (Michelle Noel), Gairloch; daughter-in-law, Kim Scanlan, Lincon, NB; brothers, Howard Atwater, Linacy; Reid Atwater, Saint Andrews, N.B.; Alan Atwater, Victoria, B.C.; sister-in-law, Greta Fraser, Ottawa, Ont.; brothers-in-law, Bill (Christine) Pettipas and Wilfred Pettipas, London, Ont.; John Coleman, Truro; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Raymond Michael Pettipas; brother, Ronald Atwater, Great Granddaughter Khaila McGrath, sisters-in-law, Margie Atwater, Angie Kellock, Doris Johnstone, Elva Atwater, Kathleen Coleman, Sherri Lockhart and Diane Pettipas; brothers-in-law, Jim Lockhart, Herdman “Herdie” Kellock and Ross Kellock.

The Family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Team at the Aberdeen Hospital; for their kindness, compassion and support during Carol’s courageous battle with cancer.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 5, in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Gairloch.
