Obituary of Gwenda Geraldine MacDonald

Gwenda Geraldine MacDonald, 80, Coalburn, passed away, Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph “Joe” and Laura Mae (Clark) Doyle. Gwenda was an adherent of Thorburn Presbyterian Church, Thorburn. She enjoyed playing crib with her late husband, Kelly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Surviving are her son David MacDonald, Blackstock, Ont.; grandchildren, Hannah MacDonald; Alex Cameron; great-granddaughters, Lyla and Willa Cameron; niece, Karen Lysak, Linacy; nephew, John MacDonald, Linacy; grandnephew, Cory MacDonald.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Calvin Ernest “Kelly” MacDonald, sister, Mary MacDonald; brother-in-law, John R. MacDonald; niece, Charlotte.

In keeping with Gwenda’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
