Obituary of Jean Mary MacFarlane
Jean Mary MacFarlane, 84, Abercrombie, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, with her granddaughter, Ivy, by her side.
Born in Cork Station, N.B., she was a daughter of the late David and Alice (Richard) Boucher. Jean was an energetic lady who was always on the go. Through out her life, she volunteered her time to help others, with her parish community and The Salvation Army. Jean will be fondly remembered for her “love of scratch tickets and Bingo”. She shared the joy of listening to Country Music and playing Crib with her late husband, Maynard. For Jean, “life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are her daughters, Donalda MacFarlane, New Glasgow; Michelle (Troy) Manuel, Grande Prairie, Alta.; son, Jeffrey (Fern) MacFarlane, Grande Prairie; grandchildren, Danielle, Ivy, Matthew, Ethan, Andrew, Aaron and Jesse; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Estey, Fredericton, N.B.; brothers, Peter Boucher, Fredericton; Edward (Mary) Boucher, Harvey Station, N.B.; Steven (Catherine) Boucher, Fredericton and Donald Boucher, Harvey Station.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Maynard William MacFarlane; sisters, Donalda Doucette and Aurora Gladue; brothers, Rudolph, John and Leonard Boucher; brother-in-law, Darrell Estey.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, her life will be celebrated privately. Donations may be made in Jean’s memory to The Salvation Army.
