Obituary of Janet Elizabeth Rogers

Janet Elizabeth “Birdie” Rogers, 69, Stellarton, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Francis and Leona Mary (LeMoine) Scott. Janet loved her son and grandchildren, never missing an important occasion. She was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jay’s fan, never missing a game. Janet possessed a generous spirit and when a need arose in the community, she was first to offer help. She thoroughly enjoyed her daily visits from her fur pals, Molly and Daisy, making sure they had their individually approved snacks. For Janet, “life has changed; not ended.”

Surviving are her son, Jason (Jennifer) Rogers, St. Catherines, Ont.; grandchildren, Brighton, Easton and Aspynne Rogers; siblings, Gertrude Kelly, Sydney Mines; Dennis Scott (Shauna), North Sydney; Debbie Scott, Sydney; Freda Zuberovic (Lawrence Middeljans), Stellarton; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, George, Raymond, Lillian “Lill”, Mary, Jean, Tom, Edith “Edie”, Frederick “Freddie, Madeline and Maureen.

In honour of Janet’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
