Obituary of Bruce Snell

 

Norman Bruce Snell, 82, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 22, 2026, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

 

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Norman Joseph and Virginia Rose (Joyce) Snell.  Bruce served with the Royal Canadian Army for 14 years, having done several peacekeeping tours in Germany and other locations.  Following service to his country, he was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton, for 33 years.  Bruce enjoyed playing golf, gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for his love and kindness.

 

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Mary Joyce (Patton) Snell; daughter, Natasha (Robert) Anderson, Frasers Mountain; son, Ronald (Monika) Graetsch, Germany; step-daughter, Shauna Greene, New Glasgow; step-son, Christopher Kim Greene (Evelyn), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Ava, Lincoln, Johathan and Josefin; step-grandchildren, Travis, Courtney, Brett and Christopher; step-great-grandchildren, Maisyn, Mavrick, Isabel, Theodore, Muriel, Brooke and Presley; sisters, Brenda Fitzpatrick, Priestville; Nancy Fraser, Frasers Mountain; Heather (Charles) Patton, Frasers Mountain; Norma Greene, Frasers Mountain; Cara Snell (Tim), Calgary, Alta.; brothers, Kevin (Sharon) Snell, Garden of Eden; Chris Snell, Westville; Kerry (Karen) Snell, Merigomish; Phillip (Wendy) Snell, Frasers Mountain; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Kenneth Snell; brothers-in-law, Danny Fitzpatrick, Ron Fraser and Dale Greene.

 

A graveside service will be held in MacLellans Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
