Obituary of Brian Gene Taylor

On March 25th, 2026, the world lost a man who was truly one of a kind. Brian passed peacefully, surrounded by his daughters and family, after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). He was the very definition of strength, kindness, and unconditional love. A devoted father, cherished Bumpa, loving husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Born on January 24, 1965, in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, Brian was the youngest of seven children. From the very beginning, he brought light, laughter, and a sense of care to those around him, qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.

Brian is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife Michelle, who welcomed him with open arms just nine months after her passing. He was also predeceased by his beloved children, Brian and Briana; his parents, Joan and Keith; his brother Barry (Claire); and his brother-in-law and partner in crime, Jim.

He leaves behind his four daughters, who were the center of his world and who will miss him beyond words: Meghan (Alex) of Dartmouth; Mikayla (Will) of Halifax; Kara Lynn; and Jillian. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Charlotte, Logan, Henry, and Clara, who adored their “Bumpa.” Even during his most difficult days, especially throughout his treatments, they could always bring a smile to his face and lift his spirits in a way only they could.

Brian is also lovingly remembered by his siblings Dana (Tom), Clair, Joann, Michael, and Cliff (Kara), along with his in laws Barb (Erik) and Donald (Susan), and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know him.

If you knew Brian, you knew a man who worked hard and gave even harder. For over 20 years, he dedicated himself to his work with Primo Water. He was not just a coworker or a boss, he was someone people could rely on. He treated everyone with genuine kindness and respect and would give the shirt off his back, even if it meant going without himself. That was simply who he was.

Brian faced his illness with incredible strength and resilience. Since his diagnosis in January 2026, he remained in the hospital, fighting with everything he had while continuing to show the same humor, love, and selflessness that defined his life.

Brian had a way of filling a room, often with laughter. He could never go more than a couple of minutes without cracking a joke, delivering a quick witted or sarcastic remark, or giving someone a name that would stick for life. He had a gift for making people feel at ease, for finding light in even the darkest moments, and for reminding everyone around him that things would somehow be okay.

He found joy in the simple, meaningful things, farming, gardening, his love for John Deere equipment, and spending quiet moments with his beloved fur companion, Hunter.

Brian’s legacy is one of love, resilience, humor, and selflessness. He was a man who showed up for others without hesitation, who carried his family through both the good times and the hard ones, and who left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
