Obituary of Billie Hatch
William Charles “Billie” Hatch, 88, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, formerly of River John, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Born in River John on July 27, 1937, he was a son of the late Edith (Hatch) Perry. and the grandson of the late John and Laura Hatch. Billie was raised by his grandparents, John and Laura Hatch and resided in River John until his health required him to move to Cedarstone three years ago. In his younger years, he was employed with the Nova Scotia Department of Highways where he drove gravel and salt trucks for many years. Affectionately known as Bill or Billie by family and friends, he will be dearly missed by his half-brothers and sisters in Shelburne and many other family members.
Surviving are siblings, Elizabeth, Ruth, John, Bonnie and David, Shelburne; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his mother, Edith and grandparents, John and Laura, he was predeceased by his partner of 40 years, Susan Robinson.
A graveside service will be held in Mountain Road Cemetery, River John at a later date.
