Obituary of John Howard Cameron

John Howard “Howie” Cameron, 58, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 23, 2026, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.

Born in Hamilton, Ont., he was a son of Maria (Cremona) Cameron and the late John Howard Cameron Sr. Raised in Sunny Brae and New Glasgow, he was a graduate of the former New Glasgow High School. Howie was employed as a long-haul trucker in Alberta for 20 years, a career he enjoyed, before moving back to Nova Scotia. Howie enjoyed learning, in 1985 he studied hair dressing with his mother, Maria and attended the Nova Scotia Community College, Stellarton several years ago to study hotel and restaurant management. Howie enjoyed hunting and fishing in childhood community of Sunnybrae with his sons and grandson.

Besides his mother, John in survived by his sons, John Robert (Brandi), Enfield; Jeremy, Halifax; brother, Micheal, Lloydminster, Alta.; grandson, Dawson; granddaughter, Brooklynn; many aunts and uncles in Malta, Australia, Alberta and Ontario, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, John Howard Cameron Sr.

In keeping with Howie’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
