Obituary of Andrew John Mitchell

It is with broken hearts and the deepest of sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Andrew John Mitchell, 43 of Plymouth on Friday May 15, 2026 in his home.

Andrew was born and raised in Springhill, N.S. He was a son of Mary Louise (Brown) Partridge and the late Raymond Delbert Mitchell.

Surviving to mourn his abscence is his wife, Petra Mitchell, his mother, Mary (Andrew) Partridge, Dorchester, N.B.; sister, Misty MacDonald, Springhill; brother, Brad Mitchell, Dieppe, N.B.; sisters-in-law, Desiree (Michael) Pratt, Oromocto, N.B., Taylor (Chris) Josey, Gaetz Brook; nieces, Paige, Brooke and Ella; nephews, Logan and Aiden; many aunts, uncles and cousins; parents-in-law Tony and Carol Ann Russell, New Glasgow. All of whom he loved with his whole heart.

Besides his father, Raymond, he was predeceased by maternal grandparents, M. Geraldine and Curtis “Buddy” Brown; paternal grandparents, John Mitchell and Janice Moore.

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Andrew knew that he was the most kindhearted and gentle human being you could ever encounter. He loved with all his heart. Whether you got to know him face to face through working at Convergys and Web.com or by playing online with him in WoW and Final Fantasy, you walked away smiling. His love of all things nerdy and geeky made him the perfect person to talk to on a plethora of topics. Many of these conversations extended for hours with his best friend, Luke. Andrew had an uncanny way of being able to explain a difficult concept to anyone and not making them feel silly for asking for the help. Needless to say he will be missed by everyone that his light and warmth touched, not just his family.

He was never the type of person to want a big send off so in keeping with Andrew’s wishes his family will celebrate his life privately. Go do something kind for someone and love with everything you’ve got like he would have instead and “never forget your towel.”
