Obituary of Marion Margurite Kay
Marion Margurite “Nin Nin” Kay, Trenton, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Glenfalloch, she was a daughter of the late Frank Leonard and Ann (McGuiggan) Marshall.
Nin Nin will be remembered for her warmth and kindness, resilience, modest nature and fierce independence. She had a good sense of humour and an indelible smile.
Loved by all, Nin Nin was a special figure in the lives of her many grandchildren. She was a good listener, and invaluable friend, who’s support and guidance often made the difference. She was a strong woman, whose selflessness and caring personality lifted those around her.
Nin Nin will live on in our hearts, and through memories of her painting, baking, stories of the Lone Wolf, and countless shenanigans at Nin’s house growing up.
Surviving are her daughters, Christine LeBlanc, New Glasgow; Katherine Kay, Stellarton; Barbara (Michael) Campbell, Waterville, Maine; grandchildren, Carrie (Davie) Falconer, Tim (Julie) LeBlanc, Stephen (Jenaya) LeBlanc, Jonathan (Alexie) Kay, Lisa (Michael) Bennett, Jason Kay, Kimberly (Bobby) Davis, Michael (Amanda) Campbell and Stephanie Campbell; great-grandchildren, Cody and Averee LeBlanc, Hannah and Charlotte Kay, Kayden and Kinsly Bennett, Hayley (Hunter) McCaslin, Dakota, Emma and Bella Davis, Brandon and Jessica Falconer; great-great-grandchildren, Winston Campbell, Hayden and Scarlett McCaslin; sisters-in-law, Alice (Len) Richards and Tricia Clarke; brothers-in-law, Peter (Gail) Kay and Gerald Lockhart; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband of 25 years, Norman Henry Luddington; second husband of 39 years, John Albert Kay; sisters, June Wylie, Rose Higgins, Isabel Hayman; brothers, Doug, Glen, Dawn and Lewie Marshall; son-in-law, G. Allan Kay; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; cousins, nephews and niece
We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Aberdeen Hospital for their compassion and care. The family extends its deepest gratitude to homecare providers Madelaine, Baldwin, Chris, Maybelaine and Princess for helping to ensure that Marion’s final years were as happy and comfortable as possible.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes, a private graveside service was held in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow with Pastor Michael Campbell officiating.
Lovingly submitted by family.
