Originally Dave was a friend of my husband, Norman, and later became my friend and great support to me when Norman became very ill. He would visit Norman daily while he was in Palliative Care and remained in the unit for support to me and our family. I developed a deep appreciation of his kindness and compassion for us and the many people he encountered in his life journey. He drove me to Halifax behind the ambulance when Norman was on his way to the VG for his last bone marrow biospy . Later he helped me with organizing a farewell event for Norman at the LHCC held on the day the Province shutdown due to Covid. Later he stop by from time to time for a visit on the back deck usually resulting in a deep conversation which I always enjoyed. Dave called me when he became ill and talked about his disease and impending death, he had a tremendous attitude and acceptance of his prognosis indicating he was ready and not afraid of what lie ahead. Having a palliative diagnosis myself this has given me much to contemplate which is a source of comfort to me. Sending my deepest condolences to Deborah and boys as well as all Dave’s family.
