MERIGOMISH – Helen Jeanette Mason, 86, Merigomish, formerly of Normal, Illinois, USA, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 in the arms of her daughter, Karen. Born in Normal, she was a daughter of the late Walter Vernon and Margaret Jeanette (Lishka) Trower. Helen was a graduate of Bloomington High School. She was employed for 30 years in the dietary department at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center, Normal, Illinois. Helen was a beautiful singer and knew most of the church hymn book by heart. She was an avid reader and, enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Helen spent many enjoyable hours playing Skip-bo, Uno and Phase Ten with Lewis. She loved her family dearly of whom she was fiercely loyal. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Lewis Mason; daughters, Judy (Aaron) Watkins, Port Heron, Michigan; Karen (Sandy) Kirk, Trenton; grandchildren, Erika (Keith) Erbe, Tyler (Jennifer) McGee, Colby Mason, Nicole Meyers, Iowa, Sean Wheeler, Shawna Cross and Nathan Cross; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Ethan, Joshua, Carter, Claira, Bryce, Ruby, Bonnie, Jason and Lily; step-daughters, Carrie Mason (Danny LeBlanc), Abercrombie; Cdr Bonnie Mason (Dave Kettle), Kanata, Ont.; step-son, David (Rhonda) Mason, Pictou; Orville (JoAnn) Mason, Barney’s River; step-grandchildren, Randy Henley, Jami Henley, Austin Mason and Kala Mason; brother-in-law, Calvin (Chris) Mason, Ponds; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Cheryl Lynn; grandson, Jamie Lee; sister, Phyllis Radcliffe; brothers, Vernon and Harvey Trower; sister-in-law, Mary Jane and Phyllis Trower; brother-in-law, Paul Radcliffe.
