NEW GLASGOW – Chester Smith, 69, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Walter Allen and Elizabeth Isabella (Langille) Smith. Prior to retirement, he had been a self-employed painter and during the sixties was a manger of Glubes Lower Price Store, Dartmouth.
Surviving are sisters, Lillian Swan, Riverton; brother, Francis (Audrey) Smith, Westville; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Betty Johnson, Joan MacKay; brother, Garfield Smith.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A graveside committal service will be held 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Name Cemetery, Westville with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
