Obituary of Anna Bell Crooks
RIVERTON – Anna Bell Crooks, 89, Haven Brook Manor, Riverton, formerly of New Glasgow and Goldboro, passed away March 11, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family, six weeks after the death of her youngest daughter, Pauline.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John Hugh and Ethel (Clyburn) Smith. She was a member of Goldboro United Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Joan Livingstone, New Glasgow; son, Donald “Don” (Peggy) Crooks, Cornwallis; sister, Janet MacKay, Stellarton; grandchildren, Kathy Crooks, Toronto, Ont.; Dorothy MacLellan, Halifax; Donald Jr., Antigonish; David, Calgary, Alta; Sean, Powell River, B.C.; Debra Langille and Paul Coady, New Glasgow; Wendy Muirhead, Stellarton; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kitchener Russell Crooks; daughter, Pauline Coady; sisters, Jessie Smith, Christina Ormrod; brothers, Robert “Tud”, Edward “Bud”, Laurie, Will and Asa “Ace”.
Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel with Mr. Stanley Allan officiating. Interment will be in Bayview Cemetery, Goldboro, at a later date.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
