Obituary of Jacquelyn Reid Johnstone

NEW GLASGOW – Jacquelyn Reid “Jackie” Johnstone, 78, New Glasgow, formerly of Westville, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Tatamagouche, she was the daughter of the late John Finlayson and Alta Hurd (Reid) Langille. Jackie trained at the former Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax where she obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. Following, she worked at the Camp Hill, Children’s, Victoria General and Aberdeen Hospitals. Jackie possessed a strong faith in her Lord and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Westville. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who will be missed by all she loved. Surviving are daughter, Annabelle Johnstone, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Ashlee, Alan, Jacquelyn and John-Thomas “JT”; great-grandchildren, Addison, Dante, Avery and Serenity; brother, Sheldon (Susan) Langille, Frasers Mountain; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, George; son, John Allan; granddaughter, Hannah Grace; brother, Ben; niece, Allison. The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Thursday, April 11th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor and Rev. Doug Pillsworth officiating. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations, if desired, may be made in memory of Jackie to her family. The Johnstone family wish to thank the incredible staff of Glen Haven Manor, of whom, Jackie considered her second family.
