NEW GLASGOW – It is with great sorrow, the family of the late Agnes Mary Mombourquette, announce her passing at the age of 92 on Monday, September 27, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Agnes (McMullin) Gillis. Agnes was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton where she served with the CWL since 1966. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Agnes was a warm and friendly lady, who will be dearly missed by those she loved. Surviving are her children, Bill (Virginia), New Glasgow; Beverly Sugden, New Glasgow; Fred, New Glasgow; Ann Marie Mombourquette, New Glasgow; Patricia (Bill) Delaney, Halifax; Joey (Jeanette), Stellarton; Wayne, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Mark, Amanda, Jennifer, Sarah, Suzie and Amy; great-grandchildren, Stephen, James, Harrison, Madelyn, Jaxon, Callie, JT and Emma; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Ernest Frederick “Fred” Mombourquette; great-grandson, Hayden Mombourquette; son-in-law, Michael Sugden; siblings, Eddie, Angus, Stanley, Rannie, Mayme, Millie, Phemie and Theresa. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father MacDonald Ibeh presiding.
