Obituary of Vera Maude MacLean

LITTLE HARBOUR – Vera Maude MacLean, 86, Little Harbour, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Sheet Harbour, she was the daughter of a late Anderson David and Rebecca Mable (Gammon) Behie. Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a school bus driver for the former East Pictou Rural High School and had been an Avon representative. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. Surviving are daughters, Carrol (Donnie) Arbuckle, Linacy; Beverly (David) Cochrane, Waverley; son, Jim (Huguette) MacLean, Scarborough, Ont.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert James MacLean; sisters, Mabel, Alberta, Sadie and Lottie; brothers, Freddy and Norman. The family will receive visitors 12 – 12:50 p.m. Monday, January 24th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Church Brook Cemetery, Little Harbour at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to theHeart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
