Dear Family, I only knew Mildred for a short time. I got to know her as she trained me to take over her job at the Law School. I stayed in the position until the spring of 2019 as the Director of Finance and Administration, as times had changed since her retirement and the role was expanded. I remember her giving me her rock hard tiny chair that she sat in for many years that I was quick to replace since it had really seen it's best days, and she passed along her age old typewriter which I quickly changed into a computer. She left with much knowledge in her head and sadly did not visit us. She was ever so sweet and patient with me and she was never forgotten by all at the school. It took several years before people would stop telling me how much she was loved and missed. Of course, I knew it was not a slight against me, but a tribute to who she was. Last April I happened to bump into her in New Glasgow as she was shopping at the Pork Shop. She actually remembered me and she looked great. She was having a lovely conversation with the employees and I immediately knew it was her even though she wasn't facing me. Now, that is someone who has left a great impression on other people. I am very sorry for your loss, I am sure you will miss her dearly.

I'm so saddened to hear this news. My mother, Joyce (Murray) Fowler, adored Mil, always enjoyed her many calls and letters, and I remember many happy visits to the Merigomish house. Her humour and intelligence shone just as bright as her kindness. I remember her with great fondness and gratitude for the joy she brought my mum. Condolences for the entire family.

My sincere condolences to Mildred's family. I was fortunate to work with Mildred for many years at Dalhousie Law School, and admired her greatly. She truly believed in working as a team, and inspired everyone to do their best by the example she set. She was quick to laugh, and was a true joy to work with each day.

Sincere condolences to Mildred's family and friends. Mildred was my mentor at the Law School when I began as Secretary to the Dean. We became good friends and continued to keep in touch, with (handwritten) letters (she didn't like computers) and a few visits to her home in Merigomish. Mildred will be remembered as a very special lady.

I was deeply saddened by Mildy's passing. I cherish memories of times with her during summer vacations a boy (she taught me to ride a bike). She was a kind, generous and capable person and is fondly remembered by the Dalhousie law faculty where she worked for many years. She had many travels and adventures. She remained determined and connected to life to the end. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

To Millie's family and friends. Please accept our condolences on Millie's passing. We are so fortunate to have known her just a little, through the stories of her friendship and adventures with our aunt Nita MacDonald, and more recently, the absolute pleasure of her company during her visits to St. John's. We loved her laugh, her joy in life, her stories, her kindness, and her acceptance of us as new friends through her connection with Nita. We shall all miss her, Nita especially, and we send your our sympathies from across the way.

Sending my sympathies to the entire family. Your Aunt Mildie was quite a dame, a strong and independent woman. My special memory will be of her role as judge at Nancy's synchronized swimming competitions. Wonderful sense of humour, a great laugh and such class. I am sure there will be many special memories that will help throughout this difficult time.

Julie , Rob Karen and family, sorry to hear of your dear Aunt’s passing. I only met Milldie a few times and from what I could gather she was a generous, strong independent lady and a force to be reckoned with. That strong will and generosity is ever present in each of you and therefore her spirit will live on, through you and all you do. My sincerest condolences to each of you and your families.
