Obituary of Elizabeth MacGregor Pollard

NEW GLASGOW - Elizabeth “Libby” Pollard, 88, New Glasgow, formerly of Trenton passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born February 22, 1919, in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Whitfield and Minnie Blanche (Keddy) Steeves. She worked various jobs over the years the last being Glen Haven Manor from where she retired. She was a faithful member of her church Calvary Temple, New Glasgow, Golden Heirs club, Women Ministries, and Salvation Army Home League. Libby was a good and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Surviving are daughters, Patricia (Richard)Austin, Kingston, ON; Donna (John) Siddall, Moncton, NB; Judy Levangie, Trenton; Virginia (Wayne)Vacheresse, New Glasgow; Colleen Pollard, New Glasgow; sons, Calvin (Joyce) Fredericton, N.B.; Robert (Patricia) Calgary, Alta.; Michael (Ann), Dartmouth;28 grandchildren, numerous, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by daughter, Elizabeth Farrell,; son Daniel; grandson John Allen Siddall; sisters Elsie Farnell, Virginia Steeves; brothers Ronald Steeves and Murray Steeves. The family will receive visitors 3-7 p.m. Thursday, in P.& K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1p.m. Friday in the chapel with Rev. Keith Hazzard officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Hillside. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 786, New Glasgow, NS B2H 5G2; Calvary Temple Building Fund, P.O. Box 596, New Glasgow, NS B2H 5E7, or any charity of one's choice.
