Obituary of Stephen Anthony Lewis
WATERVILLE/NEW GLASGOW - Stephen Anthony Lewis, 44, Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Waterville, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Born on October 21, 1971 in New Glasgow, he was a son of Keith Lewis and the late Sandra (Miller) Lewis. In younger years, Stephen was an active member of the Summer Street Industries community from 1989 – 2009 and during this time was part of the HCRS Pictou County family. In 2009, he embraced the opportunity to relocate to Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, where he was very happy. Stephen was very welcoming, greeting each person with a warm smile and firm handshake. He embodied “love and acceptance”, treating everyone with respect. Stephen possessed a quick wit and willingness to lend a helping hand. His late mother, Sandra, was his tireless advocate and champion. Stephen was more than a big brother to his sister, Rachel, who he lovingly referred to as “Wowee”. He was the most influential person in her life. He and his father, Keith, shared a strong and everlasting bond. Stephen was a proud member of UCT Council 679, New Glasgow. For those who loved and were loved by Stephen, the world will not be the same.
Surviving are his father, Keith (Joan) Lewis, Lochaber/Chance Harbour; sister, Rachel (Brian) Hammett, Alexandria, Virginia; nieces, Sera and Jillian; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his ever-loving mother, Sandra.
