Obituary of Michel Jacques Mailloux
ABERCROMBIE – Michel Jacques “Mike” Mailloux, 68, Abercrombie, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with his wife by his side.
Born in Edmundston, N.B., he was a son of the late Roland and Florida (Gaudreau) Mailloux. Mike was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for 31 years. Following retirement, he began his “chosen” career as a school bus driver for the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board for 12 enjoyable years. In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing hockey. Mike was an avid Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Canadiens fan. He and Margaret enjoyed many trips to Newfoundland and the Eastern United States to visit family and friends. Mike will be missed by his “co-pilot” Sophie, who always had dibs on the front seat. He leaves a legacy of love for family and animals.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Inkpen); daughter, Dr. Caroline Mailloux and husband, Scott Stevens, Rhode Island; grandchildren, Matthew and Megan; brothers, Robert “Bob” (Diane) Mailloux and Roger Mailloux, Boisbriand, Que.; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Rolande Strand; brother-in-law, Terje Strand.
In honour of Mike’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
