“Come along home”
By Jennifer
I’ve noticed you are tired,
I’ve come to take you home.
She looked at him,
Said, “It’s not time,
Who will watch over them
For me when I’m gone?”
He said, “I’ve watched over you,
You’ve passed my every test.
So come along on home with me,
I’d say it’s time to rest
You’ve taken care of everyone
Your love will see them through.
They always will remember
The things you want them to.
So come along home with me
All the ones who’ve come before
Are waiting on the other side
On that distant shore.
“Maybe I’ll come with you.”
She told him with a smile.
“I’ve carried such a heavy load,
For mile after mile.
Might be good to set it down
And rest my weary bones.”
God just smiled and took her hand,
And led His warrior home.
