Obituary of Giovanni John Falcitelli

TRENTON – Giovanni “John” Falcitelli, 72, Trenton, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Maschito, Italy, he was a son of the late Michele and Rosaria (Pizzariello) Falcitelli. Prior to retirement, he had been employed with MBW Courier for 12 years, having previously drove for Day and Ross for 22 years. John was a member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton and a current member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1667 and had served as president of the 2018 Pictou County Seniors Festival. John lived his Christian faith through service to his fellow man and church all through out his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in younger years, camping with his family, gardening and raising Homing Pigeons. For John, “life has changed; not ended!” Surviving are his wife, Carol (Cooper); daughter, Jessie (Pat McIsaac) Falcitelli, Trenton; sons, Michael Falcitelli, Trenton; David (Susan) Falcitelli, Trenton; step-daughter, Sheila Angeila Weir, Digby; grandchildren, Keigan, Cody, Taylor, Nicholas, Michaella and Brittany; step-grandchildren, Eric, Donald Roy, Patrick, Daniel and Laura; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; sisters, Vincenza “Gina” Lonigro, Toronto, Ont.; Maria Falcitelli, Toronto; nephew, Paul (Angela) Falcitelli, Toronto and their children, Alyssa and Julian; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Ted) Cuvelier, Fairview; Helen Cooper, Murphy’s Cove; brothers-in-law, Allan (Anita) Cooper, Lake Echo; Raymond (Robena) Young, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Vincenza; brothers-in-law, Giuseppe Lonigro, Raymond Cooper, Moris Young and Victor Young. The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow with Father Thomas MacNeil presiding. Private interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton. Donations may be made in John’s memory to Knights of Columbus Council 1667, P. O.
