Obituary of Sterling William Wade Russell

TRENTON – Sterling William Wade Russell, 75, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late William Joseph “Bee” Russell and Ola Kathleen Smith. Prior to retirement, he was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton, for over 35 years. Wade was a member of the Pictou County Antique Car Club and enjoyed the beauty of “old cars”. He enjoyed movie nights with his brother-in-law Eric (like a brother) and reading. Wade was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed camping at the lake with his best friend, Danny Gibson, playing darts with the boys and meeting his buddies at “The Perch” for a coffee and chat. Although the pandemic changed a lot of his favourite activities, Wade was never lonely, as his beautiful fiancé, Donna, was always by his side. He leaves a rich legacy of generosity, integrity, and devotion to family. Surviving are his daughter, Crystal (John) Willett, Trenton; son, Wade (Nancy) Russell, Abercrombie; grandchildren, DJ, Joe, Katelyn, Wade, Ashley, Bailey; great-grandchildren, Zander, Hunter, Madelyn, Bryson, Brody, Hunter, Layla; fiancé, Donna Fraser, Trenton; siblings, Sarah (Kimball) Bernard, Rachael (Timothy) Porter and Earl Russell; step-mother, Karen Russell, New Glasgow; nieces, Kara and Felicity. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Anne “Liz” (Cotton). A private service will be held. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
