Obituary of Shirley Worthen

WINDSOR, ONT. – Shirley Dawn Worthen, 29, Windsor, Ont., formerly of Calgary, Alta. and Trenton, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of John James (Debbie) Baillie, Chance Harbour and Katherine Gail Worthen, Windsor, Ont. Dawn attended community college in Waterloo, Ont., receiving her certificate in welding. Upon graduation, she was employed as a welder in Calgary, Alta. before taking a medical leave. Surviving besides her parents, are brother, Joseph Fitzgerald (Liza Baker), Brampton, Ont.; several aunts and uncles; a nephew; many cousins. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Doris (Barnett) Worthen on July 30, 2016. In honour of Dawn and Doris, the family will receive visitors 10 -10:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov 10th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where a joint funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Donations may be made in Dawn’s memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
