Obituary of Annie K MacDonald
SOMERVILLE, MASS/Lismore – Annie Katherine “Annie K” MacDonald, 76, Somerville, Mass., passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 in the New Infirmary, QE II, Halifax.
Born in Lismore, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Mary Margaret (Chisholm) MacDonald. She retired from Maritime Tel & Tel, Antigonish in 1960 and then worked for Jordan Marsh Company, Boston. She was a member St. Catherine of Genoa Roman Catholic Church, Somerville and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. She was a member of the Canadian American Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Annie K will be missed by her friends and family throughout Canada and the United States.
Surviving are her husband, Angus Vincent MacDonald; daughters, Mary J. (Mike) Lawlor, North Reading, Mass; Ann C. (John) Ganley, Attleboro, Mass; son, Daniel J. V. (Andrea) MacDonald, Tewksbury, Mass; grandchildren, James and Megan Lawlor, Rebecca, Sarah and Ian Ganley; Shelby, Nolan, Mackin, Gavin, Liam and Seamus MacDonald; brother, Lester, Vancouver, B.C.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Evelyn MacDonald, Kathleen MacDonald, Margaret Campbell, Francis (Carmel) MacDonald, Wally MacDonald, Elmer (Joan) MacDonald, Sylvester MacDonald (Lorretta Fields), Catherine Steele, Bernadette Simpson, Eugene MacDonald, Allan (Theresa) MacDonald, Theresa (Ray) Sanderson; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mary; brother, John A., three brothers in infancy.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Andrew Boyd, Father James Elliott O’Neal and Father Colin MacKinnon. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
