Obituary of Mary Treca Hattie

WINDSOR/NEW GLASGOW – Mary Treca Hattie, 75, Windsor, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Upper Musquodoboit Valley, she was a daughter of the late Morris Colin and Ann Eunice (Chaplin) Arnold. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Surviving are her sons, Morris and Blair, Halifax; Darren (Tina), Wolfville; grandchildren, Logan, Morgan and Samantha; brothers, Elroy (Diane), Lake Charlotte; Hughie, Musquodoboit; Cyril, New Glasgow; Bernie, Halifax; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold William Hattie; sister, Sylvia Brougham. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 28th and, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 29th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 30th in the chapel with Rev. Bruce Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Glen Bard Cemetery, James River. Donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
