Bob and Ellis, our dear friends; Earle just called and told us of Daniel's death. We are stunned and our hearts are breaking for you. Most of our memories are of a sweet young boy, the center of your universe. We feel so fortunate to have gotten reaquainted with him as an adult during a tour of Pictou Harbour on your boat. We could see you both reflected in his unique personality. As we read about his life it's obvious he's taken all you have given him and touched many lives. "Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky"......Elton John

It doesnt seem so very long ago that I first met Daniel while auditioning for "Random Acts," and improve troupe that was just one of countless ideas that Daniel made happen in order to enrich the lives of youth in Pictou County, and beyond. At the time it was a way to meet some really great friends, hang out on a weekly basis and make others laugh. I had no idea, but when I think of it now, it taught me so much more. Daniel, although we hadn't spoken in many years, made us all realize our own potential and our own self confidence. I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to his friends and family. As I am sure you know, Daniel touched the hearts of more people that perhaps he realized, and tomorrow, for every flower that one carries, many more of us who can not be there are holding one as well. Sincerely, Amanda MacDonald

Dear Bob and Ellis: What a cherished gift was Daniel's birth to you those 27 years ago. You honoured him by surrounding him with love, with incredible creativity, and with integrity, and his spirit flourished in kind. He embraced living with gusto and cherished others without reservation, and his living and his generosity and his creative accomplishments stand as testament to a life lived without limits. We mourn his untimely passing and extend our condolances to you and to his many friends, yet we will remember the gift that was his life and we will take solace in that. With love: Gayle, Steve, Allyson and Tarrah

Sept. 23. I just found out today of Daniel's passing. I was shocked by the sudden loss of a friend and former colleague. I worked with Daniel on numerous occasions during our time at EastLink Television. I will always remember Daniel as a down-to-earth easy-going person who'd never speak out in a harsh way. He was always willing to go out of his way to help others and was friends with everyone he came in contact with... I feel honoured to have been able to work with this great person. My condolences to the family during their time of mourning. May God continue to comfort you and give you peace. -Jeff Keddy Winnipeg
