Obituary of Ruby Mae Bryne
NEW GLASGOW - Ruby Mae Byrne, 91, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton, surrounded by her family.
Born in Springdale, Nfld., she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Bouchie) Earle. Ruby enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, knitting, plastic canvas and reading the Downhomer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Surviving are her daughter, Colleen (Jim) Nix, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Krista and Cory; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Terrence Byrne; son, Terrance Byrne; sister, Mable Blanar.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16th in P. & K. Mac Donald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17th in the chapel with Father Peter MacDonald presiding. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made in Ruby’s memory to the Pictou County VON or any charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the Pictou County VON, doctors and nursing staff of Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home for the wonderful care Ruby received over the last few years.
