Obituary of Gena Sanson MacLean
STELLARTON – Georgena Marie “Gena” (Sanson) MacLean, 73, Stellarton passed away Sunday July 10, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late George and Verna (MacKay) Rice. Prior to moving to Stellarton in 2008, Gena and her late husband, Charles, farmed their land in Irish Mountain. She enjoyed gardening and going to the beach. Gena was a skilled card player, who had been an avid bingo player over the years. Upon moving to Stellarton, Gena learned to use a computer and was very pleased to find a wealth of challenging games which increased her knowledge. She was a well defined person who blazed her own trail through life.
Surviving are her daughters, Michele and Colette; son, Dana; grandchildren, Renee, Richelle, Alexander and Gillian; great-grandson, Jack; sisters, Alvenia, Westville; Betty (Phalen), Pictou Landing; brother, Ralph, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles George MacLean; sisters, Joan, Jessie, Marie and Raylene; brother, Vince.
In honour of Gena’s wishes, her life will be celebrated privately.
