Obituary of Allan Edward MacGillivray

ARDNESS – Allan Edward MacGillivray, 44, Ardness. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan on Saturday June15, 2013 at home. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Hugh Lawrence and Mary Theresa (McGee) MacGillivray. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. Allan was employed in forestry and fishing. He also enjoyed farming on the family farm. He was very capable and innovative in practical and mechanical things, sharing his gift with many people. He is survived by his foster brother, Lawrence (Betty Ann) Legere, Bailey’s Brook; special aunt Agnes(Hugh) MacGillivray, Ardness; several cousins. There will be no visitation by request. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Friday in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bailey’s Brook. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Allan’s memory to The Karen Lynn MacDonald Allergy Awareness Society. (Please click link to donate online)
