Obituary of Maynard William MacFarlane

Maynard William MacFarlane, 79, Abercrombie, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, after a brief illness. Born in Tatamagouche, he was a son of the late, Margaret Elizabeth (Reid) MacFarlane. Maynard was employed as a joint filler, gyprock installer and painter for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Maynard and Jean shared the joy of listening to Country Music and playing Crib. For Maynard, “Life has changed; not ended!” Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jean (Boucher); daughters, Donalda MacFarlane, New Glasgow; Michelle (Troy) Manuel, Grande Prairie, Alta.; son, Jeffrey (Fern) MacFarlane, Grande Prairie; grandchildren, Danielle, Ivy, Matthew, Ethan, Andrew, Aaron and Jesse; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Campbell, New Glasgow; Florence MacLean, New Glasgow; brothers, James (Linda) MacFarlane, New Glasgow; George (Nancy) MacFarlane, Stellarton; many nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by brother, David; stepfather, Daniel Duncan MacFarlane. In keeping with Maynard’s wishes, his life will be celebrated privately.
