Obituary of Catherine Annie Bentley
HILDEN - Catherine Annie Bentley (nee Jordan), 82, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Hilden, passed peacefully into spirit on October 8, 2012 – Thanksgiving Day.
Born in Miramichi, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Morrison and Robina (Hamilton) Jordan. She was a long time resident of Hilden where she was very active in her community and volunteer work.
Kaye, was a gracious “Lady” who displayed unbelievable strength and caring for family, friends, and those who surrounded her. She was first and foremost a devoted mother known and loved by all for her kindness and support, gifts of food, fine needle and art work. Many who visited her home and Shortt’s Lake cottage were treated to a display of her beautiful flower gardens, love of birds and nature.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharon (Gerald), Lynne (John), Joan (Brent), Anita (Pierre) and Cathy; sons, Neil (Jin), Brian (Margaret), and James (Nadine); grandchildren, Gary, Denise, Paula, Laura, Katie, Leah, Emily, Kendall, Logan, Lauren, Ryan, Jordan, Keaton, Toria, Bailey, Tristan and Carter; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Benjamin, Claire, Rachel, Steven, Logan, Charlie, Ari, Nathaniel, and Madeline; sister, Shirley (Dale) Barry; sister-in-law, Nesta (Graham) Haggart; brother-in-law, Alan Bentley; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edson Bentley; brother, Sidney Jordan.
There will be no visitation at Catherine’s request.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or charity of choice.
