WALTHAM, MASS. - Margaret Evelyn (Sartoris) Murphy, 81, Waltham, Mass., died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Mass. Born in Wentworth, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Laura Henderson) Sartoris. Raised in Thorburn, Margaret and her late husband, James, moved to Waltham in 1957. She earned a nursing degree from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing and worked for many years at the Walter E. Fernald School, Waltham. Prior to retirement in 2010, Margaret was employed with Brookhaven At Lexington, Waltham until retirement five years ago. Surviving are daughters, Donna L. (Ronald) Nemet, Lee, N.H.; Deborah E. Rochatka, Waltham; sons, Daniel G. and Dale T., Waltham; sisters, Vivian Anderson, Green’s Point; Beatrice Stewart, Winter Haven, Fla.; Laura Mae James, Burlington, Mass./ Quarry Island; brother, Kenneth Lillas) Sartoris, New Glasgow; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James D. Murphy; sister, Mary Davidson; brothers, Carson, Gordon, John, Lloyd, Wylie and Lawson. Family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday Sept 3 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday Sept 4 in Union Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Interment will be in McLellan’s Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
