Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Stewart

STELLARTON – Margaret Elizabeth Stewart, 92, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Stellarton, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 28, 2020 in the Villa. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Barbara Ruth (Tide) Murphy. Margaret was a devoted homemaker and when her children had grown, she entered the workforce with a local commercial laundry service. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton. Throughout her life, she and her late husband, Gordon travelled and spent as much time as possible together. Margaret enjoyed quilting, knitting, candy and Tim Bits. She was most happy when spending time with her family. Margaret leaves fond memories of being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Allen) Marshall, Mississauga, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Florence Stewart, Linacy; son-in-law, Scott Hubley, Westville; grandchildren, Gordon, Shawn, Anthony, Wendy, Matthew and Shannon; great-grandchildren, Sheila, Brayden, Cleab, Keleigh, Aiden, Lucas, Clyde, Chantal and Carter; sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” Green, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry Gordon “Dick” Stewart; son, Gordon Stewart; daughter, Anna Jean Hubley; sisters, Mary and Anna. A private graveside service will be held.
