Marie Christina MacLellan, 65, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 10, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George Michael and Rosanna Jean (Stewart) DeCoste. Marie enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and karaoke. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who was completely devoted to her family. Surviving are her children, Tim (Sheila) MacLellan, Fraser’s Mountain; Tammy MacLellan, New Glasgow; Mike (Amanda) MacLellan, Fraser’s Mountain; grandchildren, Dillon, Brandon, Grace, and Bricen; sisters, Eleanor Murray, New Glasgow; Cathy Crowell (Dorothy Hage), Saskatchewan; brothers, Ivan (Ann) DeCoste, Ponds; Allen (Janet) DeCoste, Merigomish; niece, Norma Jean DeCoste and her daughter, Ally, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Joseph Francis in infancy and John Michael; daughter-in-law, Renee Hebert; brother-in-law, Larry Murray. A private funeral service will be held in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
