Obituary of James Edward Tibbetts

TRENTON – James Edward “Jim” Tibbetts, 54, passed away peacefully in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Faye (MacDonald) Dunbar and the late Miller E. Tibbetts, New Glasgow. Jim was a carpenter by trade, and worked for various companies in Pictou County during his career. His passion was working on his friend’s old cars and was always available to help his family and friends with any project. Surviving are his companion and best friend, Angela, Trenton; daughters, Amy Murphy, Mallory White, both of Halifax; Megan Murphy, Shelburne; sisters, Shirley (Joseph) Joyce, Durham; Cathy Tibbetts, Plymouth; brothers, Kevin (Benedict) Dunbar, Halifax; Ian (Amanda) Tibbetts, New Glasgow; step mother, Margaret T. Tibbetts (Ron), New Glasgow, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim is predeceased by his father Miller Tibbetts; step father Jack Dunbar. At Jim’s request, a private family service will take place at a later date. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
