Obituary of Cindy Jean Lees
SYLVESTER – Cindy Jean Lees, 55, Sylvester, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 22, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Gail Judith (Bigney) Lees, Stellarton and the late Thomas James Duncan Lees. Cindy enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Tyra and granddaughter, Meadow. She also enjoyed gardening, going for “coffee drives”, peace and solitude in nature, and spending time with her friends. Cindy was “always there”, willing to listen, giving comfort without judgement. She possessed a wonderful “dry” sense of humour and warm smile. To those she loved, Cindy was the “most beautiful girl” in the world.
Surviving besides her mother, are husband, James A. MacKenzie; daughter, Tyra Lees, Sylvester; granddaughter, Meadow Lees, Sylvester; sisters, Gina Bigney (Dean Sherrard), Brampton, Ont.; Sherry (Doug) Lees-Snyder, Cole Harbour; Laurie Lees, New Glasgow; brothers, Bobby Lees, Edmonton, Alta.; David Lees, Edmonton; uncle, Robert Lees, Westville; niece, Carly Vanstone, Brampton, Ont.; nephews, Nicholas Snyder, Cole Harbour; Kaiden Lees-Graham, New Glasgow; several cousins.
A private graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
Cindy’s family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care team and Victorian Order of Nurses staff for the wonderful care she received.
